APPEARANCE     Rhaya'lo is a fat, dark-skinned Miqo'te. He has a mess of loose, salt-and-pepper curls that almost reach his shoulders. His thick brows and long lashes match his hair with flecks of white amidst the black. His body hair, however, is mostly black, save for a white patch on his chest. He wears loose, comfortable clothing, and is never seen without his cane.  PERSONA     He's a bit of a jerk! Rhaya'lo loves to tease, gossip, and generally be a bit of a (playful) nuissance. His macabre sense of humour can be a little off-putting. The only time he seems to shift gears is when he's trying to seduce (or be seduced by) a handsome man. It can be difficult to discern when he's being sincere, assuming he ever is. His smiles rarely reach his eyes.  ABILITIES     Rhaya'lo is an extraordinary Thaumaturge, with a massive reserve of aether - something he finds equal parts blessing and curse. Preparation and rites of the dead are both natural skills in his line of work - though he can no longer prepare bodies himself, he can easily describe the procedure to those unfamiliar. Aside from his professional skills, he is an excellent cook, and can play a mean fiddle!

☽  One for Sorrow...     Where death can be found, this magpie of the desert is sure to follow. Rhaya'lo is a devoted priest of Nald'thal, and whether serving formally in Arrzaneth Ossuary or on a sabbatical, he is always happy to play his role. It's not uncommon to see him giving last rites to the fallen, and council to those who yet live.☽  Eat, Drink, Be Merry...     Good drink (something cheap and strong works well enough, too), pleasant conversation (primarily, gossip), and a private room (for getting one's ashes hauled) are some of the greatest pleasures - and escapes - in life. A frequent face in the Quicksand, Rhaya'lo may be familiar to many.☽  Eyes like Levin...     A senior member of the Order of Nald'thal and a skilled Thaumaturge, it would be suicide to underestimate his combat ability. Younger recruits have spread rumours - that he blinded himself summoning a great meteor, or about his hair turning white from communing with ghosts. The veracity of these rumours notwithstanding, he has been a primary component of parties for disposing of undead, and frequently lent by the guild to those in need of a skilled mage.

☽  Two for Joy...     For much of his time in Ul'dah, Rhaya'lo found himself glued to his sister, a Gladiator named Tikvah. Known as the Black Cat of the Bloodsands, she left the city some time ago on contract with a group of Mercs. While she hasn't been on the sands in some time, anyone familiar with her wouldn't be able to get away without hearing something of her twin brother.☽  Forest for the Trees...     To call the Tayuun family tree massive would be an understatement, and each branch is wildly different from the last. His family, one prong of the Great Bear clan, was known for being rather unorthodox; what with his parents' arrangements, the rumours about their oldest daughter, and their two youngest leaving for the desert... Still, you might recognize a cousin when you see one!☽ Bless Your Heart...     Despite his best efforts, Rhaya'lo can't quite escape being his Father's son. Familiar ears can easily pick up the smallest remnants of his Hhetsaro heritage, from turn-of-phrase to the pronunciation of certain words, or the particulars of accessories - like wampum shells and glass beads, or the pattern on his cane.

  SISTER     Rhaya'lo has known Tikvah forever - what with them being twins, and all. She is head-strong and energetic, the brawn to his brain, and the source of much of his worry. She's currently traveling as a mecenary, but they keep in touch.

☽     There's more for her out in the world than there ever was here.

  Friend?     It's impossible to tell if these two find any pleasure in each other's company, or if their relationship is some convoluted form of self-harm. For all intents and purposes, the answer is probably both.

  Student     After their initial meeting at the High Nunh, Rhaya'lo started (informally) tutoring Yves in the art of Thaumaturgy and basic Aetherology. He's rather fond of the man, thinking him much brighter than others might assume.

☽     He has a lot of promise - I just need to keep his spirits high.

  "Cousin"    A decadent, mercurial courtesan, they are cousins in the loosest sense of the word - sharing nothing more than a name. Rhaya'lo has caught his attention, somehow, and he is now plagued by this "self-made" bathhouse baron.
